FAQ’s The Walk 4 Change
What if I can only walk a mile or less? Can I still walk? Yes! This is an all inclusive walk intended for anyone regardless of ability to participate.
Can I come for a part of the walk? Yes. Everyone is welcome to participate for a day, a week, a month. You do not have to commit to the whole walk.
What should I bring if I am joining the walk? Shoes, socks, water bottle and 1-2 sets of clothes for both cold climates as well as hotter climates are some of the most important items you can bring. A sleeping bag and any other bedding you may need is a must as well.
Will I be carrying my gear? No. We will be putting everyone's gear into a truck or car for transport.
Do I need to bring food? You can but you will be fed three simple meals a day at camp.
Where will we be sleeping? Wherever we can. We will be camping outside, staying in people's yards or houses, buildings etc.
Will we be walking every day? No. We will take rest days as needed. These rest days are an opportunity to hold rallies and other events as well as a good time to refocus and bring unity to our groups.
What can I do if I am unable to walk? There are many ways you can help out. We need support teams to ride along walkers, cooks, people to help set up camp etc. Fill out a volunteer form and we will find a place for you.
What if I am disabled or am in a wheelchair? You know your abilities and we would love to have you join us regardless of ability. You can wheel a chair, use a cane or crutches etc.
